Scientific research published recently demonstrated that the normal time for delivery of oxygen from the hemoglobin in the red blood cell across the vascular endothelial wall to the mitochondria (where it is used for energy production) takes approximately 0.2 seconds. As soon as toxins and chronic infections are in the picture, the endothelium is lined with a fibrin coat making the vascular wall less permeable for oxygen. This is a process triggered by microbes which are abusing the host´s immune system to do this. Now it takes over 5 minutes for the oxygen to pass into the mitochondria! We have approximately 1300 mitochondria per cell. The speed and effectiveness by which the mitochondria can create ATP with the help of oxygen determines the vitality and health of the cell. It also determines how much the cell can participate in producing the building blocks (such as peptides, hormones, etc) needed elsewhere in the body. The availability of oxygen at the level of the mitochondria is the rate limiting step in the production of ATP and the health limiting issue for most people. Recently scientist discovered that only the transport of regular oxygen is impaired by the fibrin coat, not the transport of singlet oxygen! Read on. The theoretical (we "should" state this in theory) principle of Singlet Oxygen Energy is simple. Singlet oxygen is formed on the surface of the leaves of plants and trees through a process called photosensitization. Photosensitization requires oxygen, light and a proper ‘photosensitizer´ (for instance, chlorophyll) which can act as a catalyst to transfer the light energy to the oxygen. The result is monatomic oxygen particle, with a distinctly high level of energy. Singlet Oxygen is not blocked by the endothelial fibrin coat. Singlet Oxygen is also produced in human cells as a by-product of metabolism. Here, it can be harmful and cause cell damage, as it acts as a ‘free radical´. Yet Singlet Oxygen has a very short lifespan, and returns to its ground state within a fraction of a second. In a humid atmosphere, its lifespan comprises only a few hundred thousandths of a second. This means that no Singlet Oxygen can leave the equipment and, consequently, cannot harm any organism. The energy released when Singlet Oxygen returns to its ground state has remarkable properties where it is absorbed by water molecules in the air. The effect on organisms incorporates a considerable reduction of the production of "free radicals" - with all of the positive consequences of such a process. (This is one of the reasons why we tend to "feel better" after a walk in a forest; especially when humidity is high). Valkion imitates nature. They have constructed an activation chamber, where an artificial light source acts together with a high efficiency heat and light resistant ‘photosensitizer´. With an air pump, a stream of activated air is created. This may then be inhaled, with or without the aid of an inhalation mask or nasal cannula for research. Applications for research purposes vary. The findings show that moist air is essential; that is why every unit is equipped with a humidifier giving the activated air a humidity level of at least 85%(depending on the humidity and temperature of the ambient air). When singlet oxygen returns back to the ground state, the extra energy is released. This energy has so far been impossible to measure, but has powerful informative properties in respect to biological systems. Why can't we measure this energy when the effect is so powerful? Maybe we could with highly sophisticated equipment, but even so it would not help us very much if we could. We could possibly compare this energy we can find in every cubic foot of air in our environment. There is information and consequently also energy enough to allow us to receive millions of mobile telephone calls, radio and TV programs, if we have the correct receiver in that cubic foot of air. After a treatment with activated light a decrease from 3500 to 270 bacteria per 100 ml was recorded. This is not to be considered as a way of treating waste water, but to show the effect of the singlet energy on living organisms. There is no reason to believe that this energy could destroy all the good bacteria we have in living organisms. The energy regulates and restores the balance between what is good and bad in the body. We always need some oxidative capacity (oxygen free radicals) in our immune system, but in most humans there is a heavy surplus. We have also noted the effect on plants, which grow faster and bigger with presumably less need for fertilizers and pesticides. The energy can be transported with humid air but can also be directed as light photons through a fiber optic cable. As in this case we do not have a transition through another media, and we have no loss and presumably a higher effect. There are five different singlet states, but the most important one seems to be the one which releases energy corresponding to light with a wave length of 634.3 nm. There are studies indicating that this energy can be absorbed by the vibrations of the oxygen-hydrogen bond in a water molecule. These vibrations have peak at a wave length of 628 nm. This is probably the reason why the life time of singlet oxygen in water is so short. It has been found that the effect on human beings is not so pronounced when the relative humidity of the activated air is low, for instance when the temperature is very low or in air conditioned rooms. This is also the reason why since a few years all "inhalation equipment" have a humidifier to make sure that the air has a humidity of at least 80%. This could also be part of the reason why we feel better after a walk in the forest, especially after rain. The singlet oxygen energy developed on the surface of the leaves is more easily transported with moist air than with dry air. Water is the key with delivery of Singlet Oxygen Energy. The presence of negatively charged ions in the air, especially in humid air is also an important contributing factor to a higher level of well-being, but this is a totally different subject. No ions are generated in the Valkion. A number of investigations are currently carried out at reputable institutions and university hospitals with very interesting results so far. How to use the “ Valkion’ unit: Connect the unit to the main power supply. Fill the bottle supplied with the unit with good quality drinking water. The amount of water should not exceed the maximum line and should not be under the minimum line between 4-8 ounces. Connect the nasal cannula to the output on the front of the equipment. Start the equipment by switching on and set the timer on the desired number if minutes. Activated air is pumped into your nose doing the job; treatments vary between 2 and 15 minutes per session. What is valid for humans is also valid for animals. For human beings researchers have found that repeated sessions with the Valkion equipment resulted in a higher intake of oxygen in the blood. Also the performance was better and less lactic acid was produced. This was confirmed by an investigation on athletes at the Helsinki Sport Clinic by Dr. E. Rauhala and Dr. Sammaljärvi. During the Autumn he started 15 times and either won or become placed (second or third) in all of them. X-ray pictures taken 6 weeks after the hospitalisation showed a tremendous improvement. Since an activated air unit has been placed at a training center for horses in Hamlstad, Sweden for a few months, three horses were treated, one of them regularly starting in races. Already after 4 weeks of treatment with activated water, mixed with nutrition, the racing horse won his race 60 meters ahead of the rest of the starting field. Other comments gathered after 30 days of treatment were that horses had a slight increase of 0.3 degrees C in the morning (indicates a better metabolism). The pulse of the horse is 90 normally (12 minutes after a race) but is now regularly at 82. It seems that these successes continued but so far it has been very difficult to get additional information, presumably because of the above mentioned reasons (racing competition secrets).
